Working class hero

This year we created two blogs (ECML and WordPress) and used a lot of social tools. ECML blog was a blogging project, which offered blogs and had members from different countries in Europe. The purpose was to make students talk to each other in English. As it was slow and the project ended , we started to use WordPress. This blog is independent and ours. When people are interested in the same topics like you, they can find your post and comment on that. It offers you the possibility to have a blogroll and add posts from other blogs or sites under different categories. All the activities we have done using the other tools, we had to link back to WordPress.The tools that we used were: 

I.              Flickr:  It is an online photo management and sharing application. We can post photos to the web.Everyone can see them and can also comment on them. Besides, we can add people to our list, form groups according to interest and see their photos too. We have put photos to the Everyday Scenes pool and some about São Paulo.                              

II.     Bloglines: It is a free online service, where  we can add all the blogs of our friends and can also see their new posts on one page.                                

III.      43 things:  It is a site where you can find people who post about wishes or desires and you can talk about them too.  You can also make a list of things you like. We posted 4 comments on our WordPress blogs.                            

IV.         43 places: It is a site where you can make a list of places you want to go to or have just been to. We posted 4 comments too.                                

V.      Suprglu : It is a site where you can bring all your posts, bookmarks and photos together into one page..                              

VI.      Community Walk: It is a site where you can put photos, add comments, creat maps and explore hundreds of fantastic maps of anything and everything. This year we have created our own map and put many markers, like for instance, the field trip to the center of São Paulo.                             

VII.      Del.icio.us : It is a site where we can keep links to our favorite articles, blogs, music… You can share them with friends and also discover new things from your network.   

In my opinion, all the sites are very interesting. I really liked 43 things and 43 places, because I could see that many people have the same wishes just like me and this is very nice! I could talk with many people all around the world. The other that I liked was community Walk, because it is very nice, we have the opportunity to find maps all around the world and could see the cities and the houses in more detail.  I have never done a blog before, so it was a good chance and I liked it! I think Suprglu and del-icios.us weren’t very useful, because we haven’t worked so much on them. However, Flickr is very cool as you can see different pictures of different people and the most important: we can post our own photos!   I think this kind of course doesn’t have any disadvantages but only advantages, because on one hand we can practice our English writing and on the other hand we have had the opportunity to know many people. I think next year, we should continue with the WordPress blog and maybe contact more people.
